A Report of Two Cases of Leptomeningeal Carcinomatosis on Stomach Cancer

Abstract

|
Meningeal carcinomatosis is an important neurologic complication. It is increasingly being recognized as a cause of neurologic disability in life. But stomach cancer has rarely been reported to be a cause of meningeal carcinomatosis. We reported two cases of 46-year-old male and 56-year-old female who were diagnosed gastric cancer by biopsy under f´beroptic gastroscopy. These two cases of stomach cancer with meningeal invasion revealed malignant cells in their cerebrospinal fluid by repeated lumbar puncture. After diagnosis, they were treated radiation therapy in whole brain field. And, now, we have the plan of intrathecal chemotherapy.
